Day 1:

We have decided to bring home pekin duck eggs. The eggs are being put in the incubator at a temperature of 38.5'C or 99.5'F. Sadly, we have got one egg too many but luckily, we have an extra incubator. We have named the extra egg Jimmy. When candling, we can see the yolk in all the eggs. We are using the Janoel 12 incubator. Last but not least... we have to put 100ml in the base!

Day 2:

All eggs are looking the same as yesterday... healthy and happy:)I worry about little Jimmy...

Day 3:

OOO!!!!! We are seeing a little red dot in the middle of the yolk! The little red dot is actually a little heart. Everyone seems healthy(YAY!). Better go fill the base again! Good temperature although the incubator's temperature measurements are a bit off... approximately 2 degrees(Celsius) off!

Day 4

The little yolks are starting to jiggle around when I walk to candle them... is that normal? Jimmy is still alive despite poor incubation(The extra incubator has to be shut off at night because of fire hazards)and I'm not sure if two of my eggs are even alive:( please tell me what you think! You should be able to see one or two veins if you look closely...

Day 5

Yay! We can see the veins and a big heart now!!! Everyone is growing but poor Jimmy still isn't developing as fast as the others:( Tommorow I will take a picture of Jimmy and a picture of the other eggs.I hope you can see the veins here... They are growing a lot:)

Day 6

The veins and the heart are looking bigger but Jimmy is still looking the same... we got a 25 watt bulb for him which is still a bit hot.

Day 7

All the other eggs look the same, But Jimmy has gotten a bit bigger...
P.s. The picture beside is a picture of a duck egg's growth chart.

Day 8

The yolks, the heart and the veins have gotten bigger on all the eggs except Jimmy:(

Day 9

Every egg is so big! The yolks are almost taking up the whole egg and the veins are taking up the whole yolk! Jimmy is a very slow developer but we can start to see a red dot!(The heart)

Day 10

Jimmy has grown veins but all the other eggs seem to be the same.

Day 11

Everyone has grown and now, everyone but Jimmy have two black dots that move when the light is shining on them. Jimmy is looking the same.

Day 12

All of the eggs(except Jimmy) Have all grown darker and the little blackdot is always moving away from the light! Jimmy's veins have grown bigger but thats all I can say about Jimmy for today.

Day 13

It's really hard to see in most of the eggs but we are finnaly seing a heartbeat in little Jimmy.

Day 14

Jimmy just finished watching top gear(His incubator is right next to the tv). I know you are probably thinking "what the heck?" but jimmy will probably the most social because of all these new voices:)

Day 15

The babies are looking the same as yesterday but I can see things moving around the egg (yay).

Day 16

Nothing new except that all the eggs are getting bigger... Today little jimmy is looking about the same age as the others:)

Day 17

Sorry about no pictures the past few days... Why do I keep doing that? Anyways, inside the eggs it is starting to get cloudy and it is really hard to see but there is definitely life in there!!

Day 18

All eggs have stayed the same except Jimmy, who's two black dots have gotten bigger!
